Pickleball in Binghamton, NY

Binghamton has free municipal courts, a true indoor tennis-surface option, and a broad regional player network. Recreation Park is the simplest in-city choice for casual outdoor play, while the Lane-Starke Tennis Center supports year-round leagues, clinics, and tournament-level matches.

Where to Play Pickleball in Binghamton

Recreation Park

129 Seminary Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13905. Six outdoor hard courts use pickleball lines overlaid on the tennis courts. Play is free and public, and restrooms are available in the park season. The installed tennis nets sit slightly above regulation pickleball height, so competitive groups may bring a portable net. Recreation Park also offers parking, a carousel, pool, playground, and walking paths.

Webster Street Pickleball Courts

95 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY 13903. This city facility provides six outdoor courts and is listed by Binghamton Parks as a dedicated pickleball location. It is free to use and offers more simultaneous games than the smaller neighborhood setups.

Binghamton University Lane-Starke Tennis Center

3801 Mill Street, Binghamton, NY 13903. The center has four indoor and three outdoor tennis-surface courts used for pickleball. It is the area's strongest bad-weather option and offers half-year and full-year pickleball memberships. Court programs include leagues, clinics, camps, social events, and private instruction. Details and enrollment are available through the Lane-Starke pickleball program.

Jewish Community Center of Binghamton

500 Clubhouse Road, Vestal, NY 13850. The JCC has five outdoor and three indoor hard courts with permanent lines. Players need a membership and must bring portable nets. Restrooms, water, food service, and accessible facilities are on site.

Pickleball Lessons in Binghamton

Southern Tier Pickleball, based at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center, runs junior and adult summer camps, clinics, and skill-development sessions led by Coach Zorano Tubo. The tennis-court surface and indoor setting make it suitable for consistent instruction throughout the year. Independent local instructors are also listed in the Coaches section.

Leagues and Pickleball Events

The 2026 Lane-Starke summer league runs in two sessions; the first is May 7 through July 2 and costs $40 to $45 by division. Binghamton Area Pickleball also operates an all-level ladder from April 2 through October 13, with 52 players listed for 2026. The Lane-Starke center hosted the 110-player Levene Gouldin and Thompson Charity Tournament on November 9, 2025, making it the leading local site for future tournament play as well as weekly leagues.

Tips for Visiting Players

Use Recreation Park or Webster Street for free outdoor play; bring a portable net if regulation net height matters at Recreation Park. Lane-Starke is the best choice for rain, winter, lessons, or prearranged competitive games. The JCC is useful for members traveling with their own net. Local players coordinate sessions through Binghamton Area Pickleball, so morning and early-evening visits to the larger outdoor sites offer the strongest chance of joining a rotation.
